Double Birthday
Today is Eldest Daughters birthday, she of the ever increasing girth attempting to accommodate Baby Bean. How weird then that I should be sitting here waiting for her pushchair to be delivered. I just phoned her at work to wish her
and poor old thing has got this nasty cold bug and was up half the night with backache. As her Mum I feel really sorry for her, as her midwife I am becoming distinctly worried. I know her lump appears huge because she has an extremely curved spine, so it's all pushed forward, but I do worry what this curvature will mean for when she is having Baby Bean. Also, when you feel the bulge, baby itself feels large for 27 weeks and evn with her clothes on you can see him/her moving around very clearly. I'm quite relieved that her placenta is low-lying, so they are going to re-scan, as if BB is huge we can make 'contingency plans'. I have not communicated any of this to Daughter as she is really worried about giving birth anyway. We have the midwife sorted out who is going to care for her when the big-day comes, when I asked her, friend said that since I had delivered her 2 babies she couldn't really say no, but it would be fun and like old times because I would be there. I then mentioned that Jack's Mummy was going to be there as well, she has also worked with her, and her comment was 'It's going to be madness'.
Today is also the 1st anniversary of my joining 20six. I can't find any entries before the 9th, but my details assure me I became a member on the 3rd of February. What a productive year it has been, Nicola, Minks, Daughter, JoJo, Snaggletooth, Jenefer, I'm going to be a Mummy (where has she gone), Glowstars and Waffle and Musings, and they are only the ones that I know about. Student Midwife qualified, Sacco came, ranted at me, and went. Why do I enjoy 20six? It gives me a huge insight into other peoples lives, makes me view things from other perspectives, and also assures me that I am not alone in my trials and tribulations with relatives and employers. At work I find myself associating things my patients say to me with things pregnant, and new Mums, have blogged about and sometimes helps me to adjust my perception of what they are REALLY saying. When I have had my own problems and upsets, fellow Bloggers have been there to boost my spirits and give advice, What a service you provide!
Hurrah, pushchair has just been delivered. I'm a free woman. I can go out.

(3.2.05 13:27) For the benefit of fellow blog-readers: "Extremely curved spine" makes the eldest sound like she belongs to an episode of Lord of the Rings - but I can assure you that she appears quite lovely and not at all Gollum-like (at least she did the last time I saw her)! and furthermore....congrats mwm on reaching your first blogday anniversary - 15,000 page visits must say something about your popularity. |

(3.2.05 13:35) MJ - Thankyou, yes it's almost therapeutic. No, it is therapeutic! Newshoes - Hello, and Thankyou. IanB - Well....when she was little The Hobbit was her favourite book Perhaps I should have been more descriptive, her spine curves inwards (her bottom sticks out). When you do see her please, please don't tell her I wrote that!As for the hits, it's all me, I just keep visiting my own blog

(3.2.05 15:51) Happy blogbirthday MM! I agree, I love blogging, it gives me the chance to get things off my chest that I might not feel I can say to friends or family, and sometimes it's easier to write things down than say them out loud to someone. It's like therapy without the huge bill at the end of it )

(3.2.05 16:55) Jenefer - Perhaps NHS Direct would do as well to tell people to contact 20six, I think they would possibly receive better support. |
