Influenza

Pregnant daughter has flu. Today we should have been having a family dinner to celebrate her birthday, instead I went round with flowers, a get well card, and my sonic-aid. Raging temperature, sore throat, hacking cough, she's feeling very poorly. Had looked up flu + pregnancy on Google yesterday and decided that a visit was appropriate. When she was 4 she had pneumonia, and according to all the sites I visited this was 9 times more common in pregnant women with flu. Best check I decided. All seemed 'within normal limits'. Listened in to Baby Bean who seemed quite happy, infact her constant coughting seems to have persuaded The Bean that moving away from her chest is a sensible move so lump seems to have become slightly more compact. I'm taking this as a good sign regarding the low-lying placenta as well, 'cos if s/he can get down that low there can't be too much in the way.

Went to quiz night on Friday, we came fourth, didn't manage to beat the managers. Good night though. Winning isn't everything, she says, having beaten Hubby in the Great British Memory Test. Close run thing though, it was the round involving the numbers that nearly saw my downfall, I am useless at remembering numbers. Have no idea what my mobile number is, and I've had the same one for about 5 years now, I have the number on a label stuck to my phone. I've had the same car for 4 years now, every month I have to fill in a mileage form, with my registration number, and every month I have to look at my car before I can fill the details in.
