At last, Doctors will be checked. It has always amazed me that they don't have some formal set-up whereby they know, their employers know, and more importantly the public know that they are safe, up to date practitioners. Midwives have a supervisory body who are there for that purpose and every year we are subjected to an 'interview' where we have to produce evidence of continuing study, use notes to prove record keeping, and are generally assessed for our 'fitness to practice'.

Gosh, I hadn't really thought about the fact that they weren't subject to such things. After all, if chartered surveyors and architects have to be assessed then you'd think doctors would be too!

I didn't know surveyors and architects had to be assessed. When I think about it though it makes sense. The rule about docs hasn't been agreed yet, it's up for consultation, and then it will only be every 5 years, still better than nothing.

Princess - If you are 5ft 11inches your BMI is 24/25 which is within the healthy & desirable range. If you can walk for 45 mins there's not too much wrong with you!
